Ohh heyy it’s been way too long since I’ve shared a cocktail recipe over here.

Let me say that I have been making and drinking plenty of cocktails.

I’ve just been a little stingy and kept all of the beverage related buzz to myself.

What a selfish jerk, I know.

So traditional cocktails are cool and everything.

But sometimes you need to jazz your drink up a bit.

Adding a fruity element is one way to take your glass of happiness to the next level.

Frozen fruit is an extra brilliant idea in the summer.

Because warm, watery cocktails are no good.

No good at all.

In case I need to spell it out for you, the frozen fruit keeps your drink cold, plus you get to eat the fruit (of course) after you’ve downed all the liquid.

Mixing in an herby element is another tasty way to keep your bartender skills going strong.

As much as I love basil, mint is an excellent choice as well.

If you’re going to go really crazy, throw some cilantro into a fat glass of tequila.

But we’re sticking with vodka today.

Vodka and gin are my all-time faves.

And I’d rather consume an entire head of celery than have a drop of whisky touch my taste buds.

Blagh.

To whip up this delicious, summery cocktail, muddle fresh mint leaves with zesty lime juice, frozen plump blackberries, and some high quality vodka. Dump ice in that glass, top it off with bubbly ginger beer, then gently stir with a spoon.

Cheers!

P.S. Not trying to get all tipsy? Simply omit the vodka and add more ginger beer to your glass. That’s right, ginger beer is a nonalcoholic beverage.

P.P.S. This drink would also be tasty with frozen blueberries, or raspberries!

P.P.P.S. Extra points for those who own an actual copper mug.
