Hello, pretentious toast!
I love you.
Even when you’re brown all over and lack avocado.
Don’t get me wrong, I was itching to smash some of the perfectly ripened avocado I currently had in my possession right on that golden brown slice of double fiber whole grain bread.
But my sweet tooth prevailed and I smeared it with nut butter (duh) and sugary, fruity things instead.
Ambitious (and ravenous) humans would have (and should have) whipped up some avocado toast as well, but the whole wolfing down a greasy, yet satisfying, “second dinner” at 1 am the previous night right before heading off to bedĀ jacked up my appetite.
Dang it.
Being young is difficult.
Haha, I’m totally kidding… for the most part.
Young people do tend to be extra busy, lazy, and snobbish all at the same time, so this healthy, quick, and tasty toast is just what the doctor ordered.
Simply toast some whole grain bread, slather on a generous amount of salted creamy almond butter, dust the almond butter with ground cinnamon, plop a handful of perfectly ripened banana slices on there, sweeten the situation up with a soft candy-like Medjool date, then finally sprinkle your creation with tropical toasted coconut flakes.
Ta-daa!
A breakfast fit for queens, kings, and millennials.
And just about everyone else who happens to have a few taste buds.
P.S. Don’t have any almond butter on hand or simply can’t stomach spending $$$ on ground up nuts? Use peanut butter instead. Either way, you’re golden.
