Yes yes, that right there is a smoothie, not broccoli soup.
And a mighty fine smoothie, if I do say so myself.
The origin of all that greenness is spinach.
But don’t you worry, the smoothie tastes nothing like spinach.
Unless you’re the type who wants to knowingly drink a salad, this news should come as a relief.
I personally prefer to take a fork to my salads.
This smoothie is all sorts of healthy though, since real fruit gives it its sweetness!
And there’s some protein going on thanks to a generous plop of Greek yogurt. (The main reason why it would be a struggle to go vegan for life… along with cheese, of course.)
Let’s not forget our serving of veggies! Spinach is your friend.
If frenemies is as close as you can get, well, that’ll have to do.
Add some hemp hearts to the mix and you’ll practically be ready to run a marathon after consuming all this healthiness.
Just kidding.
But even if you’re planning on parking your lazy bum on the couch all day, sipping a refreshing smoothie comprised of coconut almond milk, sweet orange juice, creamy Greek yogurt, perfectly ripened banana, fresh baby spinach, tropical mango and nutty hemp hearts will make you feel like a million bucks.
P.S. The smoothie did taste like straight up spinach (blaghh) until I added the orange juice and more mango. Phew.
P.P.S. You can use regular almond milk, or any type of milk really.
P.P.P.S. If you want to make this a vegan situation, just double the (non-dairy) milk and take out the yogurt. Tear.
P.P.P.P.S. I used a food processor to whip this thing up since a blender was not available… therefore the green flecks in my photo. Ha.
