Warning.
There is no way that these decadent pumpkin bars smothered in perfectly sweetened cream cheese frosting could possibly be considered even remotely healthy.
So, consider yourself warned.
Let’s not forget all the times I’ve rambled on about salads.
Sometimes you just need a break, even if these salads are full of flavor and excitement.
Although, as the weather has gotten chillier, I’ve definitely been better about branching out from the salad category.
Halloween is approaching, therefore you must prep your sweet tooth with some pumpkin-flavored goodness.
After enjoying this kind of treat no one will be able to trick you into scarfing down some standard, sad, leftover Halloween candy.
Oh no.
Because these bars are almost too simple.
You could easily knock out some much needed Swiffering, watch a bit of extra trashy TV, and snack on pretty Pink Pearl apples all while stirring this batter together.
Really all you have to remember is to lick the beaters clean after whipping the mouthwatering cream cheese frosting into swirls of tangy, lightly sweetened heaven (with a hint of pure vanilla extract, of course).
The bars themselves feature pumpkin (it’s a vegetable!) plus cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and cloves.
Yeah, it’s a pumpkin spice and all things nice type of shebang.
P.S. I found this recipe in one of my mom’s recipe boxes, handwritten on an index card and everything. I just had to add some ground ginger and cloves.
P.P.S. You could certainly top these bars with toasted, chopped walnuts and a dusting of ground cinnamon.
P.P.P.S. It’s really hard not to go back for fourths, er seconds.
