Hehe I whipped up another chocolatey smoothie.

And it’s also pretty healthy!

Plus ultry creamy and full of good fats, thanks to avocado.

Well, I suppose it’s more like a shake really.

Now I know I totally dissed chocolate avocado pudding a while ago…

But when you add a frozen banana to the mix, the avocado flavor is disguised a little better, or shall I say, it melds into the concoction more effortlessly.

And the almond milk helps thin the mixture out, so it’s shake like and not puddingy (duh).

Otherwise plain ole chocolatey avocado is a little rich (and very weird, even for my taste).

Do not attempt to demolish an entire avocado in one sitting.

That’s a little too much fat and fiber, and your tummy will become very upset with you for being such an irresponsible, gluttonous dumb dumb.

(Guacamole doesn’t count… you have lime juice to cut the fat, wink wink*)

Anyway.

This shake makes a great snack (and obviously dessert), andddd it can easily turn into more of a meal if you add some protein, like chia seeds and almond butter. Ohhh and you can always sprinkle granola on top to up the protein factor. I threw some coconut almond granola on top of mine and immediately dug in with a spoon.

Perfection.

I left out the nut butter and chia seeds (minus the garnish), but I know for sure that your shake would taste just as wonderful with some nuts and seeds blended in!

If you too, would like to gulp down something creamy and chocolatey for breakfast and not even feel one ounce of guilt, simply pour unsweetened original almond milk in a blender with pure vanilla extract, chilled creamy avocado, cacao powder, maple syrup or honey for a touch of sweetness, a pinch of salt, and a very ripe frozen banana!

Get to it.

P.S. If you like a thinner shake, simply add more almond milk.

P.P.S. If you’re vegan, opt for the maple syrup (honey comes from bees, which are indeed animals… yes insects are animals too).

P.P.P.S. I am very proud to say that I have some Christmas chocolate in my cupboard and I haven’t touched it! Woohooo self-control and willpower at its finest peeps.

Update: I did touch the chocolate. Game over. Sigh.
