It you don’t already know, I’m a bit of a chocolate fiend.

And while I’m perfectly happy inhaling nibbling on a bar of chocolate, sometimes it’s fun to whip up a cute little dessert for an extra special chocolatey time.

I used to dislike chocolate paired with orange, but my taste buds have evolved, so now I’m quite smitten with the combo.

At some point last year I impulse-bought a hefty bag of macadamia nuts from Grocery Outlet, therefore those guys made it into this sweet snack as well.

Can’t let any of those pricey suckers go to waste!

Now all you have to do is smoosh down a handful of soft dates, press your buttery macadamias on top, then drizzle luscious melted dark chocolate with fresh orange zest all over those nuts.

Flaky sea salt seals the deal before those guys hit the ice box to harden up.

Sink your teeth into that!

Oh and sharing is optional…

P.S. If your nuts are already salted, you may want to skip the salty finishing touch. You know your taste buds better than me, so make these as salty or unsalty as you like!

P.P.S. If you really don’t want to include citrus in on the fun, go ahead and skip the zest. I won’t roll my judgmental eyeballs too far in your direction.

P.P.P.S. You can certainly make more clusters and just store them in the fridge for casual munching throughout the week. Now we’re talking. Chocolate can certainly smooth over the occasional mid-week meltdown.

P.P.P.P.S. These little sparkly turds weren’t the easiest to photograph but hopefully you get the point. Flavor >>>
