So I had been craving bran muffins for the longest time.

I know I know, bran muffins aren’t really a common food item to crave.

Normally people absolutely need a fat slice of chocolate cake, or can’t get a perfectly juicy burger off the brain.

But bran muffins?

Before you even start to think that I’ve finally gone off the deep end, hear me out…

Warm, homemade muffins are pretty irresistible.

Their scent perfumes the air as they slowly rise in the oven.

You carefully break off a tender piece and watch the steam lazily escape upward.

A pat of butter melts with ease and a couple drips roll down your hand.

You close your eyes as you savor the first bite, chewing slowly.

If you’re lucky a plump, juicy berry bursts in your mouth, the perfect combination of sweet and tart.

And then you hurriedly grab two more muffins before they cool down to room temperature, and the magical moment comes to an end.

So how are my convincing skills?

Pretty decent, ehh?

These particular muffins feature hearty oat bran, juicy raspberries and tender apples.

Now is the time to whip up a batch of your own!

P.S. I adapted Smitten Kitchen’s tasty blue sky bran muffins. You can certainly use wheat bran… I was having issues at the grocery store and couldn’t find it for the life of me.

P.P.S. Utilize your favorite fruit! You can add more fruit if you want, or even throw some nuts in there.
