Toasted Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Sandwich

Toasted Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Sandwich | Living Healthy in Seattle

Another sweeeet sandwich coming your way.

Because sugar is the way to my heart, and my heart (plus my taste buds and belly) especially love chocolate for breakfast.

Or any time of day…

Make that melty chocolate, then throw a couple spoonfuls of creamy, salty peanut butter in the mix and bam!

Heaven on earth.

Oh, and did I mention this dessert sandwich situation is kind of pretty healthy too.

Plus vegan, and gluten-free if you utilize gluten-free bread, so there’s that.

We got protein, fruit, whole grains and fiber going on.

In addition to healthy fat!

And some not so healthy fat, but just ignore that little detail dears–let’s pause for a second and admire that melty pb and meltier chocolate oozing out of that there sandwich.

Drooool.

I just did, so don’t go feeling all self-consious if you produced some saliva too.

With that, let’s get to whipping up one or four (or nine) of these bad boys.

Because sharing is caring and you can win over some quality new friends with this crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside masterpiece.

You might even find yourself a fineee SO (if you’re single and looking, hi).

So let’s do this!

Start by heating a dollop of tropical unrefined coconut oil in a nonstick skillet over medium-low heat.

We want that sandwich exterior nice and crispy and golden brown.

While your oil is heating spread a generous amount of peanut butter on two pieces of whole grain bread.

Cut up half a banana (or what ever it takes for full bread coverage) then blanket one slice of peanut buttered carbs with sweet naner.

Now if you want, you can sprinkle a few dashes of ground cinnamon on top of your nana for a little extra warming flavor action.

Do it.

Here comes the extra exciting part!

It’s time to smother the other peanut buttery bread slice with dark choc chips–aggressive verbs totally necessary here.

Finally sandwich your two slices of pimped out bread together then throw that baby on the hot pan!

Heat her up until both sides are perfectly golden and the interior is molten and delicious.

Hallelujah!

P.S. Make sure your banana is ripe! You want that thang sweet as southern tea.

P.P.S. Also. Real deal peanut butter people. No added sugar, oils, or whatever crap they’re putting in the stuff these days.

P.P.P.S. This Vegan Strawberry Cheesecake PB&J is pretty bomb too. Just saying.
